Policy on Photography
“Whizz Kids Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at all times and expects everybody working within this setting to share this commitment”.
Upon having accepted a child into the nursery, the parent with whom the nursery contracts is asked to agree to the child being photographed on occasion by the teacher. This enables the nursery to proceed with the taking of photographs and DVD’s at special occasions, such as Christmas & End of Term Concerts.
Photographs will be printed and included in a child’s Learning Journey, or displayed within the nursery. Parents/carers may see their child’s Learning Journey at anytime
Every parent has the right to refuse this request, in which case the child must not be photographed without the permission of the parent with whom the nursery has a contract.
Photography on mobile phones
All staff are strictly prohibited to take any images of any of the children both on and off the Nursery premises on their personal mobile phones or personal cameras.
Photographs will only be taken using Nursery digital cameras. NEVER WITH CAMERA PHONES / MOBILE PHONES.
Staff mobile phones must be kept away from the children at all times, and not handled whilst looking after the children. Any member of staff found using a mobile phone without permission to do so may be subject to disciplinary action.
Photographs will only be taken during normal nursery activities or Nursery outings. Cameras will never be used in the toilets/changing areas. A child will never be photographed when their nappy or clothes are being changed.
